We are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious **Equipment Operators** to join the team at **Heart of Florida Landfill in Lake Panasoffkee, FL** . Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge _plus_ , but willing to train the right candidate.

_Th_ _e p_ _osition is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays working 45-55 hours a week. Pay Range for this position is $24-$26+ DOE._

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Perform Maintenance around the site and facilities as needed

+ Spreading and compacting trash using a Compactor

+ Spreading daily cover using a Dozer

+ Excavating soil using an Excavator

+ Hauling soil

W** **ORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

+ The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

+ Experience driving forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck _preferred_

+ Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility

+ Must become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

+ Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily

+ Able to work outside in all weather conditions

+ Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly
