Job Description
The University of Washington’s Division of Hematology and Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a Fiscal Specialist 1.
The Division includes faculty members located at the UW Medical Center, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the VA Puget Sound Health System.
The Fiscal Specialist provides a broad range of low-level financial duties using independent judgement. The Fiscal Specialist assists the Division Finance Manager in managing entire financial portfolio estimated at over 350 budgets. Budgets are a variety of types mainly, but not limited to, clinical trial, grant, contract, cooperative agreement, sub-awards, as well as gift and surplus budgets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Pay invoices through PO, Non-PO, procard and other UW payment methods.
+ Create PO’s for recurring invoices and sub-awards, communicate with vendors to submit invoices to PO’s.
+ Process research subject payments, faculty staff and patient reimbursements in Workday
+ Extend Worktags in advance of end date
+ Reconcile and invoice for centrally held contracts
+ Register new suppliers/vendors
+ Maintain all fiscal documentation required for audit/regulatory compliance
+ Monitor and manage Division central finance email
+ Keep trackers and information sheets up to date
+ Assist with ECC reviews
+ Perform other duties as requested
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ Two years of experience providing administrative support in the area of fiscal and/or business management or equivalent education/experience.
_Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration._
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience with UW procurement and travel policies and procedures
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
+ Effective organizational, written communication, and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
+ Strong math and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and concurrently on multiple projects with frequent interruption.
+ Possess and eagerness to work in an environment with a healthy workload of paper and electronic tasks
+ Maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality

Pay Range Minimum:
$47,448.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$63,468.00 annual
