Responsibilities
The RIS (Radiology Imaging Specialist) functions as a clinical support and interdisciplinary team member participating in invasive and sterile procedures in the Interventional, cardiology, POE clinic support, and/ or radiology procedural labs. Works directly with RN/RT(R) to identify patient needs and contribute to the plan of care. Communicates with health care team, patient and family. Provides assistance and ensures safe and clean environment of care. Applies principles of continuous improvement to all aspects of the job performance. Maintains professional conduct and appearance in performance of daily activities and communicates and works effectively with physicians and other staff members. Position includes overnight, weekend, and holiday call rotation to support procedural teams.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and two years related experience; or an Associate Degree in a healthcare or service-related field. Related experience includes an environment requiring multi-tasking, within an administrative/physician's office or retail/service industry.
Additional Qualificiations
Previous medical experience preferred in a hospital or clinic outpatient setting, including knowledge of procedures. Qualified candidates must be customer-focused, service-oriented, possess strong verbal/written communication skills, and can trouble shoot, problem solve, and balance conflicting demands. Role requires independent decision making and sound judgment capabilities, with strong attention to detail and follow through. A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage difficult and emotional situations, remains calm under stress, displays empathy and maintain positive communication is also required. Must have strong keyboarding and computer skills. Demonstrates basic understanding of insurance terminology.
License or Certification
Successful completion of Clinic Operations approved medical terminology course within 6 months of position start date is required

$20.00 - $25.92 / hour; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Variable daytime days/hours - 20 hours per week/40 hours per pay period. Rotating overnight call hours from 4pm- 0730am
Weekend Schedule
