THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our dedicated team at the Ebensburg Center. In this role, you will play a key part in meal preparation and service, helping to create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our guests. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
You will be responsible for preparing and serving food items while also carrying out cleaning tasks in line with hospital and departmental guidelines, as well as adhering to relevant health and sanitation standards. Your role will involve cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and surfaces, as well as preparing meal trays and measuring food portions. You will also be responsible for serving meals, transporting trays and carts, and operating various kitchen appliances, including mixers, slicers, and grinders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch, with rotating days off.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
+ Experience in generalized food production/service in an institutional setting such as hospital or nursing home.
Legal Requirements:
+ A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination).
+ This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
+ Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
