Crouse Health is hiring a Manager of Health Information Management (HIM). Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay Range: $80,952.00 / year +, based on experience and education

Manager of HIM Position Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for the overall operations, leadership, direction and coordination of staff within the designated area(s) of responsibility.

+ Coordinates department activities and interactions with other departments on an on-going basis.

+ Attends and actively participates in hospital or medical performance improvement councils and committees as requested.

+ Proactively communicates with staff and keeps them informed on a regular basis or as needed; updates staff regarding policy changes in specialized areas.

+ Develops and utilizes department policy statements, scope of service, quality indicators and updates; revisions as necessary.

+ Performs staff management functions related to employee selection, on-boarding/orientation, coaching/development, staffing, work assignments, performance management and goal alignment as guided by hospital policy and procedures and collective bargaining unit agreement (when applicable).

+ Participates, collaborates and actively engages in meetings to achieve goals and mutually beneficial outcomes.

+ Conducts regular staff meetings to disseminate hospital and/or department/division information and allows for discussion of staff concerns needing clarification or resolution.

+ Proficiently manages and oversees all activities associated with organizational document control and the Health Information Management function for the hospital. This includes but is not limited to frequent review of systems and procedures, proactively identifying and resolving system issues to ensure optimum workflow.

+ Accurately completes form verification process prior to entering forms into hospital document portal.

+ Consistently reinforces document control standards by conducting frequent internal audits and monitoring.

+ Effectively collaborates with IT and proactively manages the successful implementation of new systems and interfaces.

+ Creates opportunities for professional growth for HIM staff and encourages staff to pursue further career development.

+ Provides regular updates to the Director of HIM regarding daily operations.

+ Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Manager of HIM Position Requirements:

+ B achelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Business, Health Services Administration, or related field required.

+ Current matriculation with a scheduled program completion date also acceptable.

+ Current RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) registration required.

+ Current matriculation with a scheduled program completion date and credential testing date also acceptable.

+ 3-5 years’ experience in a hospital HIM department across multiple areas

+ Previous leadership experience preferred.

+ Working knowledge of MS Office.

+ Strong knowledge of Crouse’s Electronic Health Record System-One Content/EPIC
