Zurich North America is hiring an experienced UA Manager – Middle Market to join our Middle Market team in Atlanta! While this position will be based out of our Atlanta office, you will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis, requiring being in office 3 days a week. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports our Middle Market team.

Responsibilities of this role include:

+ Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.

+ Assess and evaluate underwriting processes in order to implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, maintaining underwriting disciplines and identifying opportunities for improvements.

+ Follows up regularly with producers as needed to discuss status of new business, upcoming renewals, and renewals in process, and to develop appropriate action.

+ Performs customer service and account management responsibilities, as needed, which may include resolving issues related to billing, making changes to policies, and answering policy coverage related questions.

+ Participates in key account business relationships in person or teleconference with Underwriters.

+ Conducts regular performance evaluations, ensures staff are meeting performance standards based on key operational performance metrics, staffing models and growth goals of the business units supported. Regularly conducts career development conversations with staff and creates robust development plans.

+ Makes staffing decisions concerning hiring and guides staff development through identifying skills and training needs, delegating tasks appropriately, and motivating staff to provide outstanding client service.

+ Build insurance operations and underwriting skills and knowledge by participating in cross-training and learning additional processes and procedures to support multiple workflows and contribute to effectiveness of team operations.

+ Builds strong relationships across the business. Takes leadership role in Underwriting team huddles and meetings

+ Assisting to onboard and train new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.

+ Acts as subject matter expert for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing areaOR

+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years’ experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing areaOR

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing areaAND

+ Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Insurance certifications

+ People management experience

+ Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment

+ Knowledge of operational budgets

+ Knowledge of international insurance programs

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $74,300.00 - $121,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
