Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has a position open and is looking for qualified candidates for an Mechanical Engineer. The job location is the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD.

Scope: Provide mechanical engineering analysis and support services for industrial operations and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

+ Experience in Industrial operations and manufacturing

+ Review of facility designs for compliance with energetic requirements.

+ Review of drawings for compliance with energetic manufacturing to include controls, schematics, and structural drawings.

+ Ability to evaluate step by step processes and identify hazards.

+ Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field

+ Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

+ Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc.

+ Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes.

+ Some fabrication involved, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products.

+ Provides leadership and guidance to a functional area and the organization.

+ Advisory role on complex and challenging projects and initiatives

+ Work is highly independent.

+ Explosives Operations (Preferred)

Education and Experience Requirements:

+ Experience in developing system descriptions and developing Technical Data Packages.

+ Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineer technology.

+ Ability to obtain Secret or Interim Secret security clearance.
