LOCATION OF POSITON: Fairport NY 14450;O’Connor Academy

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Long Term Substitue Assignment; Anticipated January 2026 through June 2026

STARTING DATE:January 15, 2026

SALARY RANGE: $48,500 - $78,642 per school year .. Final salary offer will be prorated based on duration of Long-Term Substitute assignment

*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

DUTIES:

1. Plan and provide dynamic Social Studies instruction for adolescent students exhibiting social, emotional, and learning needs in accordance with NYS mandates.

2. Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.

3. Develop, implement, and evaluate behavior intervention plans for secondary students.

4. Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that is restorative, and trauma informed.

5. Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.

6. Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. NYS Certification in the content area of Social Studies required.

2. NYS Certification for Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12), or Permanent Special Education K-12 required, or willingness to obtain Students with Disabilities certification during probationary appointment (Tuition Reimbursement available).

3. Experience with adolescent students with disabilities.

4. Training in Life Space Crisis Intervention strategies or similar problem solving strategies preferred.

5. Physically able to perform essential functions of position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
