Job Title: Phlebotomist II - RoverJob Description

The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties related to specimen collection, troubleshooting, training, and recommending improvements to workflow processes.

Responsibilities

+ Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.

+ Record maintenance data and decontaminate work areas.

+ Update patient information accurately.

+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

+ Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.

+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

+ Understand all physician orders completely.

+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.

+ Ensure 100% accuracy in test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.

+ Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in phlebotomy, blood draw, and venipuncture.

+ Experience in specimen collection and processing.

+ At least 2-3 years of recent phlebotomy experience.

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Experience with patients of all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.

+ Customer service experience.

+ Capability of handling 30+ patient draws per day.

+ Phlebotomy certification.

Work Environment

This position is based at the IOP Account at Comprehensive Internal Medicine, located at 3890 Johns Creek Pkwy #120, Suwanee, GA. The role requires coverage at the Alpharetta location at 3180 North Point Pkwy, Suite 303, when needed. Training will be provided at LC PSC, 4275 Johns Creek Pkwy Ste B, Suwanee, GA. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suwanee, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
