We are seeking a dedicated Technical Project Manager to assist Senior Staff Technical Program Managers in overseeing complex hardware development projects. This role involves being an active participant on the ground, aiding in the progression of various engineering and operations projects within RoboFab. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, is adept at tracking progress, and is proficient in using Jira to manage and maintain project visibility.
Responsibilities
+ Support Senior Staff Technical Program Managers in coordinating day-to-day execution of cross-functional hardware programs.
+ Utilize Jira to manage tasks, track status, and maintain visibility across multiple teams and workstreams.
+ Assist in the creation and management of materials and change processes using PLM tools.
+ Track and follow up on engineering action items across mechanical, electrical, firmware, systems, and test teams.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional partners like supply chain and manufacturing to support NPI efforts.
+ Maintain weekly progress trackers, dashboards, and documentation to reflect the current state of the program.
+ Ensure high situational awareness of program status, blockers, and upcoming deliverables.
+ Proactively identify and escalate risks, delays, and cross-team dependencies.
+ Capture and circulate clear, actionable meeting notes and follow-ups.
+ Coordinate major milestones including design reviews, integration builds, and test events.
+ Continuously improve tracking tools, workflows, and team coordination mechanisms.
Essential Skills
+ 5-7 years of project management experience.
+ Strong proficiency in Jira, including admin-level capabilities for uploads, issue management, and linking.
+ Experience in delivering all phases of hardware design, supporting a product design group.
+ Ability to handle ambiguity, assess blockers, and involve the correct parties to move projects forward.
+ Background in complex electro-mechanical manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Mechatronics.
+ PMP certification.
+ Experience working in a small start-up environment.
+ Experience with software, firmware, hardware, test, validation, NPI, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
Work Environment
This position requires on-site work a minimum of 3 days a week, with significant time spent on the floor working with the product. The environment is dynamic, and you will be involved in hands-on activities with the engineering and product teams.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $60.00/hr.
