Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and managing a variety of civil engineering projects, providing an opportunity to work on diverse and engaging assignments.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare site plans, subdivision plans, and grading plans.

+ Perform drainage calculations and design stormwater systems.

+ Develop road construction plans and cost estimates.

+ Create specifications for public bidding and septic designs.

+ Design retaining walls and structural elements.

+ Manage multiple projects and interact with clients.

+ Mentor junior staff members and lead project teams.

+ Attend board meetings and provide testimonials at public hearings.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of experience with a Civil Engineering Degree.

+ Proficiency in designing stormwater drainage calculations using AutoCAD and HydroCAD Civil Software.

+ Possession of EIT certification and on track for PE licensure.

+ Experience in independently managing projects and delegating tasks to junior staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ BS in Civil Engineering.

+ 5 years of experience with NJ Land Development.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, and MS Office.

+ Familiarity with NJ Regulatory application processes.

+ Strong communication skills and comfort in client interactions.

Work Environment

Our firm consists of a tight-knit team of 10 dedicated professionals, working in a new office space with a beautiful view. The work week is structured with in-office hours five days a week, emphasizing teamwork on every project. We offer summer hours with early Friday afternoons, a company car for field visits, and mileage reimbursement. The role involves 80% office design work and 20% field visits or town hall meetings, providing a balanced and engaging work experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $72.00/hr.
