    Job Title: Phlebotomist IIJob Description

     

    The Phlebotomist II is responsible for assisting in various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This role is integral in ensuring the proper collection, storage, and transport of specimens, while maintaining compliance with established procedures and regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.

    + Record maintenance data and handle decontamination.

    + Update patient information accurately.

    + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

    + Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.

    + Demonstrate techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles.

    + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

    + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.

    + Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are correct against the script.

    + Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.

    + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

    + Attend annual department trainings.

    + Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2+ years of recent experience as a Phlebotomist.

    + Experience with blood draws from geriatric to pediatric patients.

    + Proficiency in straight needle venipuncture.

    + Excellent customer service skills.

    + Phlebotomy certification.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum of 2 years of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    + 2-4 years of relevant experience.

    Work Environment

    The position is located at a medium-sized office in a men's treatment and recovery center, handling 30+ patients a day, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. The work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts. Initial training will take place at a different location. The office is situated at Good Landing Recovery, 256 McMillian Rd Ste B, Dacula, GA.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dacula, GA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
