Job Title: Data Center Cable Technician

*Location: Altoona, Iowa

*Employment Type: Full-Time | Entry-Level to Experienced

*Pay: $18-$26 (Based on Experience)

***Overview:** We are seeking mechanically inclined individuals to join our team at a major data center in Altoona, IA. This is an opportunity for those looking to break into the data center industry and for those to continue their career in the data center field. Technicians will work hands-on with blueprints, hand and power tools, and structured cabling to support the build-out of critical infrastructure. Comprehensive training is provided.

*Key Responsibilities:

+ Assemble and mount trays, server racks, and related hardware using blueprints

+ Pull and route fiber optic cable between designated points

+ Scan inventory, unpack materials, and prepare equipment for installation

+ Break down shipping materials and assist in building server racks

+ Install servers, switches, and run cabling as directed

*Essential Skills:

+ Experience working on construction sites

+ Mechanical aptitude with at least 1 year of hands-on experience

+ Ability to read and follow blueprints

+ Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail

+ Ability to problem-solve and remain effective in fast-paced environments

*Additional Skills & Qualifications:

+ Experience in structured cabling or any construction trade is a plus

+ Self-motivated with a positive, professional attitude

+ Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities

+ Ability to read and interpret project documents and technical drawings

+ Ability to distinguish colors and hear audible signals

+ Willingness to travel within the regional territory as needed

*Requirements:

+ Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation

+ Clean Record (Must be able to pass 7 year back ground screening)

+ Must be able to pass drug screening

***Work Environment:** This is a fully on-site role at an active construction site in Altoona, Iowa. Safety protocols must be followed at all times. Required PPE includes steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves. (PPE is Provided)

+ Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

+ Occasional Saturdays may be required

+ Work is performed in a construction/assembly-line environment focused on server rack build-outs

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altoona, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
