Job Title: Electrical Apprentice / Electrician

*Location: Des Moines, Iowa

*Job-type: Full-time / Entry - Experienced Electricians

*Pay Range: Entry $17/hour - Experienced $26/hour

***Job Description:** Join a leading electrical contractor in Iowa, working on diverse projects including commercial, residential, utility, solar, audio-video, and fire projects. We are seeking dedicated electrical apprentices or experienced electricians to assist with various projects. This role has a focus on learning and development in the trade and building a long-term career in the electrical field of Des Moines, Iowa

*Responsibilities

+ Assist crew with daily tasks on commercial or residential projects.

+ Run and bend conduit, as well as run and pull cable.

+ Hang electrical boxes and fixtures.

+ Run Romex cable in residential and multifamily settings.

+ Correctly use hand and power tools.

+ Read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.

+ Commit to learning, shadowing, and training in the electrical trade (entry-level experience)

+ Commit to extended projects in the electrical field (Experienced)

*Skills & Qualifications

+ Understanding of electrical systems and components.

+ Ability to utilize hand/power tools

+ Experience with electrical troubleshooting and conduit bending

+ Basic math skills for adding, subtracting, and dividing

+ Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders

*Requirements:

+ Valid driver's license along with reliable transportation

+ Ability to pass back ground screening (No Unlawful Acts on Record)

*Automatic Qualifiers:

+ Prior experience in commercial or residential electrical work.

+ Experience in appliance installation and finishing work, such as installing light receptacles and replacing lights or wiring.

***Work Environment:** Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with optional overtime on Saturdays. We promote a balanced work-life environment and provide necessary PPE. Dress code includes jeans without holes, professional t-shirts, and work boots. Candidates should bring basic hand tools such as a hammer, tape measure, screwdriver, and wire strippers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr.
