Maintenance Tech A

Pay Rate:

$28.56/hr. up to $39.01/hr.

Sign-on Bonus:

$1000 after 30 days,

$500 after 6 months,

$500 after 1 year

Retention Bonus:

$500 after 1 year

Category/Shift:

HOURLY FULL TIME - EVENINGS 7PM - 7AM

Shift - 2 on; 2 off; 3 on; 2 off; 2 on, 3off

Shift alternates weekly to have a 3-day weekend every other weekend

+ High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

+ Basic computer skills

**AND** one of the following

+ Five (5) year experience in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, LUBRICATION, WELDING, AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE, OR PIPEFITTING.

OR

+ Five (5) year vocational/technical education in the Mechanical Discipline: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, WELDING, OR PIPEFITTING.

The Job You Will Perform:

1. Following all safety rules and practices.

2. Ensure product safety1 - performing preventative maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels2 - performing emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations 3 - referencing equipment manuals and other technical literature; knowledge of detailed mechanical equipment drawings and ability to use detailed blueprints in carrying out troubleshooting and equipment repair 4 - contacting and working with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results 5 - accurately using measurement and test equipment; knowledge of types of pitch, diameter of gears (spur, bevel, right angle, herringbone and rack and pinion); ability to install and check for backlash and wear and maintain gears; knowledge of all tools and proficient with scales, tape measures, micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, torque wrenches and pullers 6 - performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed; read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and diagrams; ability to design, build and install simple pneumatic and hydraulic systems 7 -safely operating the boiler, and maintaining adequate operation steam pressure (greater than or equal to 180 PSI) 8 - knowledge of mechanical drives and their function and troubleshooting 9 - knowledge of rigging (coma longs, port-a-power, blocking, chain falls, slings, chokers, hydraulic jack, machine dollies, booms and spreader bars10 - proficient in all types of welding (torch, stick, mig and tig)11 - Identify types of bearing and class of fits (roller, ball, tapered & cylindrical and spherical) identify proper sizing of belts, sheaves, sprockets & chains.12 - maintaining clean and organized work areas, and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks13 - accurately and completely preparing and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork14 - utilize maintenance computer system to enter notifications, time, research parts, manuals, drawings, etc.15 - trouble-shooting and solving problems16 - maintaining teamwork with other associates17 - keeping supervision informed of problems and/or unusual situations

1. Qualifications for maintenance technicians include the ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices; well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience; the ability to learn, and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team. The maintenance supervisor evaluates maintenance technician qualifications.

2. Electrical Maintenance Experience Preferred

3. Proven experience as an electrician

4. Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems

5. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and

electrical drawings and blueprints

6. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines

7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

8. Knowledge of the function and wiring of PLC’s

9. Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment

10. Knowledge of the functions of motor frequency drives

11. This is a Safety Sensitive position

12. This is an interview position and will require taking the maintenance skills test prior to

interviewing.
