    Job Description Summary

    We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team at GE Vernova Grid Solutions. You will drive business strategy through detailed technical and economic understanding of the marketplace and take the initiative to drive business leaders to provide customers with the best solutions that positively impact business. The Sr. Project Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems for our Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

     

    You will also serve as technical mentor resolving conflicts and certifying finished engineering products as proper and correct.#LI-ML2

    Main Responsibilities:

    + Demonstrates mastery of technical with detailed knowledge of theoretical and practical applications in area of expertise

    + Demonstrated leadership for engineering area of expertise

    + Proven record of technical growth and top performance ratings

    + History of successfully completing stretch assignments

    + Demonstrates self-motivation and direction to drive solutions at the technology and partner level.

    + Drives business strategy through detailed technical and economic understanding of the marketplace and takes the initiative to drive business leaders to provide customers with the best solutions that positively impact business.

    + Has cross business technology perspective

    + Embraces and drives changes in business and technology

    + Works on and with developing technology – shows imagination in application of new concepts

    + Generates advanced unique technical concepts in relevant area of expertise

    + Demonstrated active participation in technical institutions/organizations

    + Detailed knowledge of technical regulations and standards in the relevant area of expertise

    + Known in the related Industry and acknowledged and respected as a significant technical contributor.

    + Provides direction, oversight, and coaches other engineers as a technical mentor

    + Serves as Chief reviewer of technical output, makes judgments on technical conflicts

    + Certifies engineering automation output after tool development

    + Drive cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction

    + Lead a team in performing RCA's (root cause analysis) and execute corrective actions

    + Drive culture of quality by supporting project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Master’s degree preferred.

    + Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering.

    Desired Characteristics

    + Knowledge of substation design, power systems, and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, and NESC standards and codes.

    + Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Windchill Imagine, Tableau, ATP and Python.

    + Experience with control systems, equipment schematics, installation, field-testing and commissioning of HV equipment, including required safe work habits

    + Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering projects.

    + Professional Engineer (PE) license

    For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113 200,00 and $188 800,00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

     

    Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
