Responsibilities You will serve as a member of the entry control vehicle inspection team which conducts private and commercial vehicle inspections. You will independently performs installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles utilizing standard operating procedures, written orders and regulatory requirements as a guide to assess determination for a wide range of unique circumstances. You will direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic during periods of emergency or increased traffic. You will serve as a member of the installation’s overall security response capability during actual or simulated incidents. You will be responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments. You will inspect private and commercial vehicles to determine if safe to enter installation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Authenticating identification for access to restricted areas; 2) Regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain traffic flow and security operations; 3) Granting or denying personnel access into restricted areas; and 4) Performing private and commercial vehicle inspections and package inspections following prescribed procedures to ensure only authorized property is brought into or removed from facilities. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. A 40 hour work week is typical for this position. This position may be subject to rotating shift work to include: call back, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall notification and is required to respond per command policy. Maybe subject to being interrupted from meals or other work breaks while on duty. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
