The Red Gate Group is seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer to support U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) within the Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA). In this role, you will develop high-quality visual products that communicate complex operational and strategic information with clarity and impact. Your work will directly support senior leadership, public affairs messaging, and mission-critical engagements across the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
The ideal candidate brings strong design fundamentals, creativity under pressure, and experience operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This role requires the ability to translate abstract concepts and complex data into compelling visual narratives while ensuring full compliance with Air Force, DoD, and CENTCOM policies and standards.
Background
The mission of the Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA) is to serve as the principal advisor to the Commander on all internal and external communication strategies and to support the command’s mission objectives. CCPA ensures timely, accurate, and effective communication that informs the American public and regional audiences about CENTCOM operations that defeat adversaries, strengthen regional stability, and protect U.S. interests.
Key Responsibilities
+ Collaborate closely with editors, subject matter experts, and senior leadership to produce mission-aligned visual products.
+ Interpret project objectives and incorporate feedback from senior leaders to ensure clarity, accuracy, and visual impact.
+ Conceptualize, design, and produce graphics, infographics, exhibits, and display art for briefings, presentations, and official engagements.
+ Develop creative solutions from minimal guidance or rough concepts, ensuring alignment with strategic communication goals.
+ Provide multiple design concepts when requirements are ambiguous, using professional judgment to guide visual direction.
+ Design and produce print, digital, and motion graphics using industry-standard tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
+ Optimize designs for multiple platforms, including digital displays, social media, presentations, and printed materials.
+ Ensure all products comply with branding standards, accessibility requirements, and DoD visual communication policies.
+ Provide guidance and best-practice recommendations to junior team members or non-design personnel when needed.
+ Support emergent, mission-critical requirements, including availability for 24/7 surge support during crises or operational events as directed by CCPA leadership.
Required Qualifications
+ Active TS/SCI clearance.
+ Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or multimedia production, preferably in a DoD or military environment.
+ Demonstrated experience designing for briefings, presentations, digital platforms, and print media.
+ Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
+ Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, branding, and composition.
+ Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging visual products for diverse audiences.
+ High attention to detail throughout concept development and final production.
+ Ability to work effectively in a high-tempo environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience supporting Public Affairs, Strategic Communications, or senior executive briefing environments.
+ Familiarity with motion graphics, UI/UX concepts, or interactive media.
+ Experience designing within government branding and policy constraints.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to engage professionally with senior leaders and stakeholders.
