The Event Specialist will play a key role in supporting marketing and fundraising efforts by planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising and client service events for non-profit organizations focused on supporting veterans and families in need.
We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills, likes to manage complex projects, and wants to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. We value energy, passion, creativity and a positive outlook.
This position works under the general supervision of the Senior Manager of Communications and Events and will be responsible for securing new sponsors and income, planning and implementation of all internal and external events, developing relationships and expanding the Veterans Inc. donor community across New England.
This individual would be based out of the 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605 location but will be required to travel and plan events for other agency locations within New England. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Must be able to pass a CORI background records check.
This is a full-time position with full benefits (health, dental, vision, 403B, paid time off, short/long term disability and life insurance, etc.). Salary range between $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience.

Essential Functions:
Event Specialist:
+ Responsible for the successful planning and execution of events from concept to post-event.
+ Manage event budgets, track progress, and conduct evaluations.
+ Coordinate with vendors, manage logistics, and ensure all logistical elements are in place.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive event timelines and project plans to drive attendance.
+ Compile and analyze post-event data to assess the success of the event.
+ Work as an active and contributing member of the Marketing and Communications team
+ Other special projects and duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Ability to successfully manage competing deadlines without sacrificing quality of work.
+ Strong project management skills.
+ Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask as needed to meet tight deadlines.
+ Ability to work independently with little oversight and as a contributing member of a team as the situation dictates.
+ Ability to understand, communicate and follow Veterans Inc. policies and procedures.

+ Ability to utilize and manage social media and other marketing techniques to market agency events.

+ Ability to maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality standards.
+ Proficiency in all Microsoft Office, including Publisher required.
+ Must be willing to travel to other agency locations within New England. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
+ Must be able to successfully pass a background records check.
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Minimum of 2 years of successful event coordination or management
+ Minimum of associate's degree in related field.
