    Job Description

    About the Role

     

    EnergyUnited EMC is seeking a **Region Line Engineer** to support the planning, design, and reliability of our electrical distribution system in the Lake Norman Region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electric service for our members while working closely with operations, engineering, and safety teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist the Region Line Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of regional objectives

    + Provide engineering support for distribution design, system reliability, and power quality issues

    + Coordinate and oversee internal and external crews to meet service delivery goals

    + Plan six-week and daily workloads and ensure timely work order completion

    + Support safety programs, audits, training, and incident investigations

    + Analyze reliability data and assist with system improvement initiatives

    + Coordinate power quality investigations, feeder patrols, and equipment upgrades

    + Support large or complex member needs related to system design and reliability

    + Prepare switching procedures and assist during emergency and after-hours situations

    + Utilize tools such as AMI and distribution automation systems to support operations

     

    Skills & Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field

    + One year or less of experience in electric distribution planning (preferred)

    + Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and power system operations

    + Familiarity with NESC and RUS standards preferred

    + EIT or FE certification preferred

    + Strong computer and technical skills

    + Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record

    Working Conditions

    + Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

    + Subject to emergency call-out, adverse weather conditions, and on-call rotation

    + Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and travel to job sites regularly

    + Employee must live or be willing to relocate within a 25 mile radius of the Cornelius office.
