This position requires routine day travel within the service territory.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of operations and tests, experiments, resource management practices, inspections, and analyses with focus on Human (HU) Performance tools, including strict adherence to Technical Instructions. Operates and troubleshoots equipment. Identifies procedural and/or equipment improvements. Monitors contractor activities to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and environmental regulations is achieved. Performs data calculations and assists in evaluating results. Maintains records of tests, experiments, and/or analyses performed and prepares standard forms or reports. Assists in training and providing technical direction to A-Level technicians.
Aids in waste shipment activities including characterization, container labeling, manifest preparation, shipment scheduling, and packaging.
Must demonstrate proficiencies in sampling, using instruments, collecting field data, site inspections and documentation, stormwater inspections, and report writing.
May also assist in the implementation of land and water technician management activities focused on protection of natural and cultural resources.
May be required to traverse hills, rocky terrain, or other obstacles in the field during sampling events. May also be required to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
SUPERVISON RECEIVED:
Independently performs assignments with instructions. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems. General guidance is also provided through applicable technical management plans and guidelines.
SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES:
Must be able to recognize technical problems, draw conclusions, and communicate effectively. Must be proficient in sampling, analysis, and report review and/or preparation. Must possess knowledge of applicable tools and equipment and have basic knowledge of scientific principles and practices. Should have basic knowledge of environmental regulations related to the utility industry. Must be able to direct work of A-level Technicians.
