About the Sam’s Promotions Platform Team:
The Sam’s Promotions Platform team builds and runs the omni-channel promotions capabilities that power our US business across **Membership, Merchandising, Marketing, and Loyalty (including Sam’s Cash)** . We enable promotions end-to-end—from creation and validation through real-time execution and measurement—across in-club, online, and mobile experiences. This is one of Sam’s foundational omni-platform services, and your work will directly influence day-to-day business outcomes, member value, and operational efficiency. You’ll tackle highly complex problems that span multiple systems and partners, operate at scale across millions of members and large volumes of data, and help deliver reliable, fault-tolerant solutions. We build using modern web, cloud, and data technologies with a strong focus on performance, resiliency, and measurable impact for our members. + Develop software for Sam's Promotion platform
+ Design and implement pipelines to process real time delivery data against our Walmart Global Tech Guidelines.
+ Use GenAI to accelerate the design and implementation of end-to-end applications using backend technologies such as Python, Java, Node.js, and Go.
+ Lead team in performing design, code reviews, operational excellence – building for resilience, high availability, scalable and performance.
+ Create/Code/Design large, complex workforce management applications, services, and systems that are used across Promotions platform.
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product, data science, and other software engineering teams to understand the business problem and draft, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems that efficiently meet those needs.
+ Troubleshooting business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation.
+ Leading the discovery phase of large scale projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, design, project management, business and user experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas.
+ Developing Innovation strategies, processes, and best practices by leading internal technical teams; partnering with cross-functional teams across the business; developing assessments of key opportunities; documenting project scopes; developing long-range plans and project timelines; communicating with and influencing decision-makers and executives within the organization; and resolving technology differences across teams through informed discussions.
+ Collaborate with cross team and cross functional stakeholders.
What you will bring
Over 10 years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, distributed systems.
+ Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot and other latest Backend Stack.
+ Strong background in building scalable applications using Micro services architecture
+ Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc.)
+ Expertise in internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch, Solr, MemCache, and similar tools)
+ Experience working with distributed event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)Hands-on experience with AI/ML, including integrating large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, RAG, and fine-tuning techniques.Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred), cloud-native architecture, and deployments.
+ Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to lead and mentor in a dynamic environment

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
