    **Position:** RN – Charge Nurse

    **Unit:** Medical/Surgical – Post-Surgical

    **Facility:** South Florida Baptist Hospital – Plant City

    **Shift:** Night Shift

     

    BayCare Health System is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Post-Surgical team at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City.

Our Post-Surgical Med-Surg unit cares for patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures, focusing on safe recovery, pain management, patient education, and coordination of care to ensure optimal outcomes.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Provide leadership and oversight for a post-surgical Med-Surg patient population

     

    Utilize effective clinical and managerial skills to support staff and patient care delivery

     

    Serve as a professional role model and clinical resource for the nursing team

     

    Demonstrate accountability for professional practice and ongoing development

     

    Perform duties as Charge Nurse and preceptor as assigned

     

    Mentor team members and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support patient recovery

    Qualifications – External

    Certifications & Licensure:

    Active RN (Registered Nurse) license

     

    BLS (Basic Life Support) required

     

    ACLS if required by department

     

    RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion in lieu of education

     

    Certification must be nationally recognized, RN-professional, and applicable to current practice area

     

    Nurse specialty certification preferred

    Education:

    RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or BS in a healthcare-related field required within 7 months of hire/promotion

    Experience:

    Minimum 18 months of acute care RN experience

    1 year of leadership experience preferred

    Specific Skills:

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills

     

    Excellent critical-thinking and clinical judgment abilities
