    Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a top-notch home and school where 2,100 pre-K through 12th grade students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with an extraordinary cost-free career focused education. This is made possible by the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, who established the school in 1909 and ensured it was fully endowed. Thanks to that foresight, the school has almost 12,000 graduates and is expanding to serve more students.

     

    MHS provides enrolled students an amazing multitude of athletic opportunities, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and programs led by committed coaching staffs. MHS offers Varsity, JV, Junior High, and Recreational teams for 15 sports and intramural programs. Athletic programs begin in Elementary and Middle Division and culminate to the Senior Division Varsity level. Our program has produced many successful seasons ending with Mid Penn Conference, PIAA District III, and PIAA State Championships. Many athletes also advance to play at the college level after graduation from MHS.

     

    We are currently seeking a **Middle School Soccer Assistant Coach** for the spring season to assist the head coach with the organization and administration of the 7th & 8th grade girls soccer program. Qualified applicants should exhibit commitment to high achievement and support for all students in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.

     

    Practice is generally Monday-Friday 3:15 pm-5:30 pm or 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm with two or three games per week starting at 4:00 pm. There are some Saturday Events during the season. Off-season work is flexible and necessary for this position.

     

    Stipend amount based on experience & working the entire season: $3,602 - $4,682/season.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Driver’s license required.

    + Has at least one year of successful coaching experience or experience playing at the collegiate level.

    + Demonstrates knowledge of current coaching techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport.

    + Must have the ability to teach beginner skills while also developing various skill level athletes in a positive and professional manner.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse youth. Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds is preferred.

    + Demonstrated skills in providing safe, structured skill development practice and playing experiences, while also developing high character student athletes.

    + Strong communication skills (verbal & written).

    + Strong organizational and planning skills are required.

    + Must demonstrate and uphold high ethical standards, serving as a role model and demonstrating a commitment to student engagement.

    + Must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
