Master Data Specialist

GENERAL FUNCTION
This position participates in the creation, maintenance, and governance for material master data in SAP for the North American Chryso Construction Chemicals business. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the timely and accurate creation and maintenance of master data elements in accordance with established procedures and internal controls. This position will be a part of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning team, and will collaborate with Planning, Operations and Plant personnel. Additionally, this position will work with other business partners to periodically cleanse master data.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Business Support – 65%
+ Create and maintain material master data in SAP
+ Ensure alignment between SAP master data and other business-facing systems
+ Periodically monitor data inputs and resolve issues to ensure data integrity
+ Develops a system of communication, documentation and review of material master data, in alignment with company data strategy and all policies and internal control requirements
+ Creates and distributes regular and ad hoc reports to relevant stakeholder teams as applicable.
+ Clearly convey findings, both written and orally, to non-technical stakeholders. This includes creating reports and presentations that give insight from the data
+ Other duties as assigned.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - 20%
+ Work with business to clean and prepare data. This includes structuring of the data to align with the existing SAP framework, and transforming data into a format that allows for smooth integration into SAP
+ Partner with global master data team to maintain consistency of data across worldwide organization
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute standard procedures for data governance
+ Effective collaboration with the Finance, Operations, R&D, Quality, etc. to ensure any data needed as it relates to Material Master is provided from other business segments.
Continuous Improvement – 15%
+ Support continuous improvement efforts by making recommendations for relevant data initiatives, benchmarking, tools, and methodologies and executing key process improvement activities. Actively engage to get updated on current trends and industry best practices for data management, data governance supplier digital engagement
+ Develop standard operating procedures for creating new data, maintaining existing data, and cleansing legacy and obsolete data Manage concurrent improvement projects, compiling metrics to keep abreast of inter-connected projects in a complex business environment
Required Qualifications
+ Accredited HS Diploma or GED
+ 3+ years applicable work experience with master data management-
+ Strong analytical skills, with a systematic approach to problem definition and problem solving
+ Experience with ERP platforms (preferably SAP ECC) and Microsoft Office tools
+ Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (ex PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.)
+ Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
+ Self-starter, lead initiatives and drive activities independently.
+ Customer-centric attitude
+ Ability to solve complex problems that involve competing priorities; make data-driven decisions or recommendations and align decisions with strategies. Considers the impacts of decisions on other parts of the organization
+ Outstanding communication and presentation skills among all levels of the organization

+ Associate or bachelor’s degree (technical or business related)-
+ Prior experience servicing internal customers in a large complex organization-
