Schedule Coordinator - Boulder Valley Surgical Associates Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $19.29 - $28.24 an hour - Full-TIme Days, 40 hours per week Boulder Community Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduler who is responsible for the daily maintenance of the surgery schedule and all aspects of the scheduling process. This position requires problem solving, conflict resolution and high levels of customer service with physician scheduling coordinators and operating room staff Benefits: •Health insurance, including a FREE employee only option •Dental and Vision insurance •BCH paid Life Insurance; Spouse and Dependent Life Insurance plans •Short-term and Long-term disability coverage •Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts •Retirement plan with BCH matching contributions, and discretionary lump sum contribution •Paid Time Off •Education assistance program •Voluntary Wellness programs, to include biometrics, wellness team challenges, and much more •Staff Support Initiatives such as Sound Baths, Meditation, Massages, and Reiki •Free one-on-one retirement planning sessions •Employee Assistance Program offering 8 free, confidential counseling sessions for you and your family Qualifications •High school diploma or equivalent preferred. •One year of experience in a medical area preferred Responsibilities •Schedules surgical procedures by determining the length of time, resources and facilities needed for each case. •Maintains electronic fax system, continuously reconciling and forwarding information as needed to other departments. •Answers telephone, takes messages, and communicates messages to appropriate person. •Maintains surgical waitlist for physicians requesting booked days and/or times. •Assists with orientation of new scheduling staff. •Consults with and/or advises appropriate personnel of situations requiring follow-up or attention. •Maintains strictest patient confidentiality at all times. •Establishes and maintains good working relationships with managers and members of other departments, physicians and their office staff. •Attends all required departmental and staff meetings. •Confirms weekly surgical schedules with the physician offices •Works with physician offices and IVS staff to resolve authorization conflicts and rescheduling of procedures. •Responsible for effective communication with all departments, physicians, and staff for efficient department flow. •Communicates room closures and block release/conflicts between physicians and the surgery department. •Scheduling urgent and emergent cases with the physician. Then collaborate with coordinator in charge to fit into schedule. •Works with surgery department and IT to correct and maintain accurate scheduling information/resources in Meditech.
