Patient Registration Representative
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Position Overview
As a Patient Registration Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital. This role requires compassionate customer service, accuracy, and the ability to stay calm and supportive in a fast‑paced clinical environment. You’ll gather important information, answer questions, and help patients feel at ease during what may be a stressful time.
What You’ll Do
+ Greet patients and assist them through the hospital check‑in and registration process.
+ Work across multiple computer systems and screens to enter patient and insurance information accurately.
+ Answer incoming calls and respond to questions while managing a steady flow of patient interactions.
+ Support clinicians by pausing registration when urgent medical needs arise.
+ Build rapport quickly with patients who may be anxious, ill, or unsure of the process.
+ Navigate variations in insurance plans with training and guidance.
+ Stay on your feet much of the day, assisting patients in person while maintaining workflow efficiency.
+ Collaborate with a supportive team committed to your growth and success.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
+ Strong customer service skills
+ Ability to multitask in a busy environment
+ Comfortable working around illness, injuries, and emotional situations
+ Confident using computers, typing, and navigating multiple systems
+ Professional communication skills — courteous, clear, and empathetic
+ Dependable, adaptable, and quick to learn
Nice to Have (Not Required):
+ Medical terminology or healthcare experience
+ Experience in fast‑paced customer service roles
Top Skills for Success
+ Hard Skills: Computer proficiency, typing, using multiple systems; healthcare terminology (a plus); strong communication

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Vernon, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.50/hr.
