    The Chief of Staff to the Chief Business Operations & Innovation Officer (CBOI) enables the executive and their leadership team to operate at their highest strategic level by managing priorities, driving alignment, and ensuring execution across the organization. Uses strong leadership and critical thinking skills to analyze, synthesize and evaluate/problem solve to greatly enhance the overall customer experience and drive operational efficiency within the CBOI area. Serving as a strategic partner and advisor, improves organizational clarity and execution, fosters stronger collaboration and trust across the organization and accelerates transformation and change initiatives.

     

    Participates in all “operating meetings” to ensure consistency across SLAs, expectations, actions, etc. Assists with other critical daily operations of the CBOI organization, and ensures the executive is prepared and ready for critical meetings with all the prepared materials (including with the Board).

     

    + Ensures the CBOI priorities are embedded across the organization by aligning the team with strategic goals and priorities. Establishes regular cadences to assess progress on strategic priorities, drive accountability and ensure outcomes are measurable.

    + Responsible for overall CBOI strategy and long-range planning process. Collaborates with operating teams, embedded strategy leads, and enterprise stakeholders (e.g., Segments and Support Functions) to align goals and direction with CBOI vision and business strategy.

    + Acts as a key thought partner, brainstorming and identifying solutions to challenges within the CBOI area.

    + CBOI liaison for annual strategy summit preparations

    + Explores synergies with Global & Strategic Account teams to look at the customer journey to help ULS achieve greater customer engagement, satisfaction and increased efficiency and profitability.

     

    Operating Model and Governance

     

    + Supports ongoing refinement and governance of the CBOI organizational design and operating model and oversees team cadences and townhalls. May help organize team meetings, and other special events.

    + Strategically helps manage executives’ time/involvement to ensure project or decision-making processes take place at key times, where their input and authority are most needed.

    + Prepares for and follows up on meetings for the executive – including preparing the leader for upcoming meetings by ensuring they have all the information necessary to be productive and engaged. Oversees meeting preparation and planning for critical high profile meetings, Board meetings, etc.

    + Manages internal and external communications (notably related to CBOI) in coordination with Strategic Communications and may also be involved as needed in drafting newsletters, reports, pitch decks, presentations, internal and external communications, and/or social media posts on behalf of the leader.

    + Drives continuous improvement, operational excellence and metrics driven culture.

     

    Special Projects

     

    + Oversees large, cross-functional, organization-wide high-impact projects or initiatives; brings together important stakeholders to deliver and drive decisions.

    + University degree (advanced degree preferred)

    + A t least 8-10 years of professional experience

    + Global experience in dynamic environments required

    + Working effectively in highly scientific and/or engineering sectors and industries is preferred

    + Effective management of 2-3 direct reports

    What we offer:

    We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 30% of the base salary.

     

    This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
