Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

The QA Engineer oversees all aspects of the application and functional testing activities for given project(s). This individual may assist project team with high-level design and/or integration considerations as well as implement and maintain automation of test cases. The QA Engineer will be part of a scrum team and be expected to participate in all scrum ceremonies with the team.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Build new automation test scripts using C# or Typescript (depending on project)

+ Build web UI automation using Selenium web driver or Playwright (depending on project)

+ Build API and database test using C# or Typescript (depending on project)

+ Maintain and debug existing automated test scripts in parallel with sprint functional testing

+ Scheduled daily test execution using CI/CD tool

+ Potential to mentor across QA teams within the program space

+ Ability to build and enhance a test automation framework

+ Follow established automation and performance testing practices

+ Work as quality lead within an Agile scrum team

+ Collaborate with the scrum team members to develop Agile testing strategies that address areas such as database impacts, functional software use cases, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability

+ Help the team prevent defects by baking in quality practices early in the planning and development phases

+ Defect discovery, prevention and tracking with the scrum team

+ Execute Manual testing when automation may not be ideal

Required Qualification:

+ 2 + years of OOP experience with languages like C#, Java, Python ,Ruby, or Typescript.

+ 2+ years of software testing experience

+ Experience with test automation tool/framework like selenium, playwright, or cypress

+ Familiarity with source code repository like GIT, TFS or subversion

+ Experience creating and executing complex SQL queries including utilization of multiple JOINs

+ Experience testing API

+ Experience with Integration testing

+ Experience with tools like ALM, Rally, JIRA, etc

+ Performance and load testing experience a plus

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

+ 3+ years

EDUCATION

+ Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
