    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Mechanical Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This role is for a position within our CAD team. The responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and preparing engineering drawings to ensure customer requirements are met. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    + Creating designs, models, and drawings for mechanical parts and tooling

    + Rapid prototyping using FDM 3D printing

    + Performing mechanical analysis for part strength, heat dissipation, and damage/failure analyses

    + Frequent communication with technical, program, and other functional teams therefore excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential to succeeding in this role

     

    This position may be filled at either the Associate Mechanical or Mechanical level.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + **Associate Mechanical Engineer:** Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree from an ABET accreted school.

    + **Mechanical Engineer:** Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree from an ABET accreted school with 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years of experience with Master’s.

    + Knowledge and experience creating drawings and models in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX or similar CAD software.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office tools – PowerPoint, Word, Excel

    + Must be a US citizen and currently hold or be able to maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

    + Frequent communication with technical, program, and other functional teams therefore excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential to succeeding in this role

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Knowledge and experience with CAE (computer aided engineering) analysis software

    + Knowledge and experience with industry and military specifications

    + Knowledge and experience with 3D printing and CNC Machining

    + Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
