    This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering state. Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 50 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time.

     

    As the Assessment Data and Reporting Analyst, this position will support the Academic Standards, Instruction and Assessment Division by providing high quality, accurate, relevant, and timely quantitative analysis. This position will analyze and interpret Minnesota assessment data to ensure meaningful, reliable, and valid assessments of the WIDA English Language Development Standards and Minnesota Academic Standards. Responsibilities include overseeing the accurate transfer of assessment data to database systems, coordinating report modifications that result in database or report calculation updates, and maintaining data integrity throughout the update process. This position will utilize broad and deep professional knowledge of educational research theory to create and implement data-driven processes that monitor compliance of federal and Minnesota state policy related to statewide academic assessment. This position may also be charged with conducting analyses and special research studies to assure all technical requirements expected by the United States Department of Education (USDE) for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) State Assessment Peer Review process are met.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four (4) years of professional experience in quantitative data analysis, data management, measurement, or statistics, including:

    + Experience completing analyses using a programming code (e.g., R, SQL, SAS, STATA, Python)

    + Experience working with education data

    + Knowledge of educational assessment systems

    + Experience communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

    A Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience and a Bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of professional/ advanced-professional experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Education, Measurement, or related field

    + Experience working with K-12 education data

    + Experience analyzing large datasets

    + Experience with Minnesota educational assessment development

    + Experience using data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)

    + Familiarity with psychometric concepts

    + Familiarity with data governance and metadata documentation practices
