    The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus.     Salary:

    Job Description Summary:

    The Range Technician I works under the general supervision of the Innovation Proving Ground s (IPG) Director of Testing. The Technician I entry level position encompasses support to all phases of customer event driven operations, ranging from Demonstrations to full Test and Evaluation events. This support includes: assisting in all efforts required to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained and prepared for use, aiding in the planning of events, participating in event execution as required, and ensuring facilities and equipment are recovered and prepared for future operations. Additionally, under the guidance of the DoT and Senior Technologist I, the Technician I will assist in the development or strategies, policies, and procedures that will add efficiency and effectiveness to current IPG Operations and posture the IPG for success in future operations. The Technician I will have daily interactions with partners internal to the Texas A&M University System (e.g., BCDC research teams, College of Engineering, TEES, TEEX, GCRI, ITEC) and external (e.g .. Army organizations, industry, labs) and, as such, must be adept at communicating in both the written and spoken word.

     

    The BCDC is located on the 2,000-acre RELLIS Campus in Bryan, TX is an ecosystem for agile technology development and service-member-inspired research. The BCDC is the result of a partnership between the U.S. Army Futures Command and the Texas A&M University System, TEES, and the State of Texas. The $200 million complex is designed to bring together researchers from U.S. universities, the military, and the private sector for collaboration, demonstrations, and high-tech testing or initiatives to help accelerate military innovation for our nation's defense.

    Responsibilities:

    - Support all phases of IPG Test Operations (Plan, Prepare, Execute, and Assess).- In conjunction with (ICW) the Senior Tech I, conducts periodic Range and facility maintenance and improvements to include limited landscaping operations.- Execute equipment accountability and sustainability operations to ensure all equipment is fully mission capable and/or receiving repairs.- ICW the Data Team lead, support IPG internal and external Validation, Verification, and accreditation events for instrumentation and network interoperability.- Employment of the IPG's camera, radar, and network capabilities to optimize event coverage.- As required, function as the Range Officer in Charge and/Range Safety Officer for support to both internal and external events.- Independently plan events as required.- Provide input to, and assist in, the development of supply, maintenance, and operational policies governing IPG operations.- Enforce all safety procedures and policies, to include but no limited to operating in open air environments (hot and cold), confined space, and lockout/tag-out.- Assist the DoT in planning and resourcing specialized programs such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops to facilitate program goals.- Serve as the IPG's alternate purchase card holder and, when needed, execute all aspects of purchasing; research, cut sheet, approval, buy, and deliver.- Other duties as assigned.

     

    Education and Experience:- High school diploma.

     

    - Two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Registration, Certifications, and Licenses:

    - Must be able to gain and maintain a DoD (Department of Defense) security clearance.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    - Knowledge of word basic computer skills; word-processing, spreadsheet management, and PowerPoint.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Strong interpersonal organizational, and customer service skills.- Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.- Proven critical and creative thinking skills. - Able to operate autonomously after provided guidance and objectives.

     

    - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
