The Role
We are looking for a highly experienced **Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM)** to lead complex, cross-functional programs spanning hardware, embedded software, cloud services, and Android/Linux-based systems. You will drive end-to-end program execution—from concept through mass production—ensuring seamless alignment between engineering, product, operations, quality, and executive leadership.
This role requires strong technical depth, exceptional communication, and mastery of program management frameworks to deliver world-class hardware products at scale.
Your Contribution
As a Principal TPM, you will:
+ Lead multi-disciplinary programs across hardware, firmware, embedded Linux/Android systems, and cloud-connected services.
+ Serve as the central point of coordination for engineering and business stakeholders, ensuring clarity of scope, requirements, dependencies, risks, and timelines.
+ Establish and drive planning frameworks, execution rigor, and Jira workflows across global cross-functional teams.
+ Provide concise executive-level summaries and updates, translating complex technical details into clear, actionable information.
+ Ensure risks are surfaced early, mitigation plans are in place, and teams are aligned to hit key milestones.
+ Champion operational excellence by refining processes, improving communication flows, and instituting best-in-class program management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Execution
+ Own end-to-end delivery of hardware product programs—from early concept, EVT/DVT/PVT phases through launch and sustaining.
+ Coordinate across hardware engineering, system software, embedded Linux, Android engineering, cloud/backend teams, QA, operations, manufacturing, and business units.
+ Drive cross-functional roadmap alignment, schedule planning, engineering readiness, and milestone tracking.
+ Manage trade-offs across scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
Planning, Tools, and Process Excellence
+ Define and maintain Jira workflows, dashboards, filters, boards, and reporting structures for highly complex engineering programs.
+ Build program plans, Gantt charts, execution playbooks, risk registers, and dependency maps.
+ Implement scalable processes for planning, execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
Communication & Stakeholder Alignment
+ Produce clear, structured executive summaries and program reviews for VP/C-level audiences.
+ Facilitate effective communication between distributed teams, surfacing blockers and resolving ambiguities proactively.
+ Maintain crisp documentation of decisions, risks, trade-offs, and engineering agreements.
Technical Depth & Problem Solving
+ Understand system-level architecture for hardware devices with embedded Linux/Android and cloud-connected functionality.
+ Drive technical discussions with engineering teams to ensure clarity and feasibility.
+ Work with architects and engineers to identify risks, resolve issues, and maintain engineering quality and schedule integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Partner with Product Management to align on requirements and customer needs.
+ Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing teams during NPI and factory bring-up phases.
+ Work closely with Quality, Reliability, and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory and certification readiness.
Required Qualifications
+ 10+ years of Program or Technical Program Management experience delivering hardware products at scale.
+ Proven experience shipping **embedded Linux** , **Android-based** , or **cloud-connected hardware devices** .
+ Deep understanding of hardware development cycles (EVT/DVT/PVT), supply chain readiness, and hardware/software integration.
+ Mastery of **Jira** , **Confluence** , and modern program management tools and workflows.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate at both engineering and executive levels.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority.
+ Demonstrated success leading large, ambiguous programs across multiple time zones.
Compensation:
This position offers an annual base salary typically between $ 141,000- $220,000.In certain circumstances, higher compensation will be considered based on the business need, candidate experience, and skills.
