Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program
The Union Health System takes pride in offering professional development and career growth activities. The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) trainee program at Union Health Medical Group is a structured hybrid training that combines classroom instruction with supervised clinical practice in an ambulatory care setting. Successful trainees transition into a CCMA role upon certification and completion of the program requirements.
Program goals
+ Equip trainees with foundational knowledge in anatomy, medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care skills.
+ Prepare trainees to perform vital clinical duties competently and safely.
+ Support trainees through the CCMA certification process and transition into clinical roles.
Core Training Topics
+ Learning the anatomy of the body
+ Medical terminology
+ Learning how to take vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respirations, and temperature)
+ How to perform a clinical intake on a patient
+ How to perform an electrocardiogram (ECG)
+ Laboratory values (normal and abnormal)
+ Understanding specific diagnostic testing
+ Administering injections
+ Phlebotomy (how to draw blood)
+ Common medications, actions, and side effects
Program details
+ Candidates are selected by interview process and hired into a full-time position consisting of a hybrid work/class schedule. Start date of March 2, 2026.
+ Must commit to a one-year minimum working full time in a CCMA capacity with Union Health.
+ Must have full time availability Monday- Friday schedule from 8am – 5pm (no exceptions).
+ Paid class time during work schedule.
+ Tuition is 100% paid.
Prerequisites
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Previous medical or medical office experience preferred.
+ Internal Candidates-Must follow transfer policy. No disciplinary actions within prior 6 months.
+ Internal Candidates-Must have manager recommendation.
+ Internal Candidates-Must meet contributor status or above in prior evaluations if applicable.
