UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer / Chief Technology Officer (CIO / CTO) in New York, NY to provide executive-level leadership over enterprise technology strategy, operations, and innovation. This opportunity is 40 hours/week for a 1-year project, minimum. This role will oversee day-to-day IT and engineering activities, ensure the stability and security of mission-critical systems, and guide long-term technology modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong executive leadership, and the ability to align technology solutions with organizational goals.

MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
+ Advanced degree in a technology-related field such as Computer Science or Information Technology
+ Minimum of ten (10) years of executive-level experience providing technology leadership for organizations of similar size and complexity
+ Extensive experience in senior technology leadership, including oversight of enterprise IT operations and engineering teams
+ Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform)
+ Strong strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management experience related to technology programs
+ Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and data governance
+ Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for executive stakeholders
+ Experience managing vendors, consultants, and external technology partners
+ Proven success in talent acquisition, workforce development, and organizational growth
+ Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
SCOPE OF SERVICES
+ The CIO / CTO will serve in a hybrid executive role responsible for both internal IT operations and external-facing technology strategy. This position provides leadership over technology teams, ensures system reliability, and drives innovation aligned with organizational goals.
+ Developing and implementing a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with organizational objectives and budgetary constraints
+ Leading and managing technical and engineering teams to ensure projects meet business requirements, timelines, and budget expectations
+ Overseeing the availability, performance, and reliability of critical enterprise systems
+ Ensuring cybersecurity controls are implemented and managing technology-related risks
+ Collaborating with executive leadership to recommend system enhancements and modernization initiatives
+ Managing vendor relationships and establishing strategic technology partnerships
+ Communicating technology issues, standards, and protocols to stakeholders and leadership
+ Attracting, developing, and retaining skilled technology professionals, including transitioning consultants into permanent roles where appropriate
