Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the EVP, Corporate Development and Strategic Partnerships is responsible for driving growth, market expansion, and strategic partnerships across the system. This role leads initiatives in network development, joint ventures, payer relations, business development, and strategic industry partnerships to advance access, value-based care, and financial sustainability. The EVP works closely with the CEO and executive leadership to ensure alignment and disciplined execution of system priorities.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Growth Strategy and Market Development
• Oversee the Strategy and Planning team.
• Advise the CEO on growth strategy, market positioning, and partnership opportunities.
• Lead enterprise strategy for network development, market expansion, and new business ventures across care settings.
• Conduct market analyses, opportunity assessments, and business case development to guide strategic investments.
2. Strategic Partnerships and Joint Ventures
• Identify, structure, and execute joint ventures and affiliations to expand access and diversify revenue.
• Oversee due diligence, valuation, governance design, and integration planning for partnerships.
• Build and maintain relationships with academic partners, physician groups, and community organizations.
3. Payer Relations and Value-Based Care
• Negotiate payer agreements, including value-based care arrangements, ensuring compliance and financial sustainability.
• Develop scalable contacting infrastructure and performance tracking across care settings.
4. Capital Planning and Financial Oversight
• Lead capital allocation for new ventures and facilities; ensure ROI analysis and prioritization of investments.
• Monitor financial performance of partnerships and growth initiatives against established targets.
5. Integration, Change Leadership, and Performance
• Drive post-transaction integration and change management to achieve timely and sustainable outcomes.
• Standardize operating models and management services across partnered and owned entities to optimize efficiency and quality.
6. Governance, Risk, and Compliance
• Coordinate board and committee processes related to corporate development, ensuring rigor and compliance.
• Oversee risk assessments and regulatory compliance for transactions and partnerships.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field required; master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, including 7+ years in senior executive roles overseeing corporate development, strategic partnerships, or growth initiatives within healthcare or academic health systems.
• Demonstrated success in structuring and executing joint ventures, mergers/acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, including governance design and integration planning.
• Deep knowledge of value-based care models, payer contracting, and market expansion strategies across a variety of care settings.
• Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise growth strategies and deliver measurable outcomes in market share, financial performance, and quality.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing complex capital investments.
• Exceptional ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and manage change in large, matrixed organizations.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience engaging with boards, academic partners, and external stakeholders at the highest levels.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to represent the organization externally with professionalism and credibility.
