    Desktop Support Technician – Long-Term Contract (Potential to Hire)Overview

    A major healthcare system in Raleigh is seeking two Desktop Support Technicians to join their Field Services team. This is a long-term, renewable contract with strong potential for full‑time conversion. You’ll support hospital staff and nearby clinics, ensuring critical technology stays up and running in a fast‑paced medical environment.

    What You’ll Do

    + Hardware Support:

    + Set up workstations and peripheral devices

    + Handle break/fix tickets, device swaps, and workstation-on-wheels (WOW) support

    + Troubleshoot PCs, printers (including Zebra printers), and connectivity issues

    + Project Work (approx. 50%):

    + Hardware refreshes and device replacements

    + Deployments, migrations, and imaging of new devices

    + Support Windows 10 → Windows 11 upgrade initiatives

    + User & System Support:

    + Add devices to Active Directory

    + Assist with onboarding new users

    + Support application issues and basic EPIC-related troubleshooting

    + Help with asset management, commissioning, and decommissioning equipment

    Required Skills

    + 1.5+ years deskside hardware support experience

    + Strong knowledge of Windows 10 (Windows 11 exposure is a plus)

    + Experience with device imaging (server or flash drive-based)

    + Printer setup, driver troubleshooting, and printer logic experience

    + Active Directory: add/remove users, manage permissions

    + Excellent customer service—white‑glove support for doctors, nurses, and non‑technical staff

    + Strong communication and willingness to ask questions and collaborate

    Tools & Environment

    + ServiceNow (ticketing & asset tracking)

    + Bomgar (remote support)

    + Citrix environment

    + VDI, desktops, Lenovo hardware

    + Vocera (voice environment)

    + Imprivata (badge access)

    Schedule & On‑Call

    + Shifts: Monday–Friday

    + 6am–2pm

    + 8am–5pm

    + On‑Call Rotation:

    + Begins after acclimation

    + Occurs every few months

    + Remote only (no onsite requirement)

    + Weekly stipend: $351 + OT for any hours worked

    Contract Details

    + Long-term consulting role (6‑month renewals)

    + Strong history of converting contractors to full‑time employees

    + Must be comfortable working onsite at the Raleigh hospital location

    Requirements for Hire

    + 7‑year Employment contingent upon background clearance

    + 10‑panel drug test

    + Immunizations: REQUIRED

    + TB skin test

    + (All onboarding costs and scheduling handled by the staffing partner.)

    Work Environment

    + Business casual (no jeans, cargo shorts, or tennis shoes)

    + Collared shirts required

    + Hospital setting supporting clinical staff

    + No smoking or vaping on premises

    Interview Process

    + One-step virtual interview with hiring manager + two team leads (Microsoft Teams)

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
