    Description

    Summary: Works closely with the Product Owners, Developers, Support/Integration Teams, and external partners to develop strategies, processes, tools, and standards that improve the quality of data in our systems. This role will exercise strong analytical, troubleshooting, development, and testing skills across multiple data feeds, processes, and repositories.

    Essential Functions:

    Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    1. Proactive analysis of data processing and storage – Research feeds to ensure that incoming messages are consistently delivering data that is thorough, accurate, and adheres to the specifications client requires. Knowledgeable of best practices and coding standards, ensuring that queries are written and tested in the most efficient manner. Familiarity with SQL execution and explain plans.

    2. Quality Assurance and Measurement – Participate in testing and/or code reviews of development team output to proactively identify logic flaws, ensure consistently and standards across independent systems, and enforce data quality standards. Establish monitoring of Production data feeds and repositories to detect performance, volume, throughput, or connectivity that is outside of expectations.

    3. Improve data quality – Document and report potential data quality issues found during analysis or monitoring. Lead efforts to resolve root causes and execute any necessary retroactive cleanup. This might require development of scripts, processes, or configuration that the DQA executes directly, or through coordination of resources, tools, skills, and knowledge from other supporting teams.

    4. Manage data quality initiatives – Document, monitor, and report on projects, including escalation and communication to Sr leadership about potential problems or failures. Collaborate with partners and receive direction from managers regarding strategy, prioritization, and course of action for assignments.

    Skills/Characteristics:

    Required

    • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and root cause analysis expertise

    • Fluency in SQL and query development tools, particularly Oracle PL-SQL and SQL Developer

    • Experience with ETL processes and tools

    • Experience with working across multiple application development or operations teams

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $62.00/hr.
