We are looking for students who are intersted in being student support aids! You can choose which work study area you are interested in, training will be provided. Work Study Areas are:

+ Math-Student support aides will assist students in grades 6-8 in topics of fractions, decimals, percentages, equations, geometry and word problems. Aspiring candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills and have an ability to encourage others.

+ Science-Student support aides will assist students in grades 6-8 in topics of engineering, technology, energy, organisms and planets. Aspiring candidates should be curious and have an act for exploration.

+ ELA-Student support aides will assist students in grades 6-8 in topics of small-group activities, text editing and revisions, and reflections. Aspiring candidates should be familiar with text formatting.

+ Centaur Plus- Staff members will supervise and assist K-5 students within various activities and projects. This includes indoor and outdoor settings. Aspiring candidates should be responsible, flexible and able to supervise activities.

Important info: Work study is available after school and during open class periods.

+ Compensation is $16 per hour.

+ Offering approx. 6 hours per week.

+ Required: Monthly team meetings

+ Requirements:

+ Be interested in Education as a profession.

+ Have a positive attitude.

+ Be a Junior or Senior at Brooklyn Center High school.

+ Have a 2.0 gpa.

+ Possess and maintain consistent attendance.

+ Have a passion for helping others.
