Resp & Qualifications
PURPOSE:
Leads the planning, development, and application of enterprise architecture to achieve business strategies and transformations. Possesses a strong understanding of multiple business areas in the enterprise. Supports development and utilization of the IT strategy and enterprise architecture work products, including blueprints, reference models, standards, and guidelines. Supports architecture governance, including the review and assessment of solution architectures for alignment with the IT strategy and enterprise architecture. Supports the identification, evaluation, and selection of COTS solutions and platforms, ensuring optimization of the enterprise technology portfolio. Provides EA services and support to one or more business areas and/or enterprise architecture functions, i.e., application portfolio management, ARB operations, technology planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ **Architecture Development:** Develop review, approve, and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints and roadmaps. Analyze pain points and opportunities that transcend business areas and propose enterprise strategies or solutions. Identify, develop and maintain reusable architecture patterns and reference models. Ensure alignment across architecture and business domains and traceability to business and IT strategy.
+ **Architecture Consulting:** Provide guidance to domain and solution architects to ensure that solution architectures align with IT strategies and enterprise blueprints, standards, and guidelines. Researches, develops, documents, and analyzes enterprise architectures (including business, enterprise information environment, intelligence processes, and IT) to identify mission capability gaps, overlaps, and shortfalls.
+ **Strategy Development:** Lead the development and execution of enterprise and domain-specific IT strategies, standards, and guidelines. Engage in business strategy development to identify new business capability and technology-driven opportunities and ensure alignment and prioritization of IT strategy.
+ **Architecture Practice Development:** Support the development, tailoring, and enhancement of enterprise architecture frameworks, methods, and tools. Ensure the alignment and integration of enterprise architecture processes and deliverables with those of other architecture and SDLC disciplines. Contribute to development of enterprise architecture communications and education material for use with business and technical stakeholders or partners. Prepares and publishes formal architecture documents, produces architecture development plans and reports, and presents staff actions to customers (e.g., white papers, briefings).
+ **Architecture Governance:** Represent Enterprise Architecture in solution architecture peer reviews and architecture governance forums. Support the operations of the Architecture Review Board.
+ **Planning and Operations** : Assess projects for architecture impacts in support of annual planning, resource estimation, and alignment with IT strategy and enterprise architecture. Provide regular reporting on progress, issues, and opportunities related to enterprise architecture.
+ Solution Assessment: Represent Enterprise Architecture in the identification and evaluation of solution alternatives, including the drafting and/or review of RFIs/RFPs and the evaluation of vendor proposals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience:
+ 10 years Related professional IT engineering experience leading multiple business facing enterprise level cross domain engineering initiatives OR
+ 8 years progressive experience in multiple Domain Architecture or Solutions Architecture leading multiple business facing enterprise level architecture initiatives OR
+ 6 years experience in Enterprise Architecture leading multiple business facing enterprise architecture initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
+ Proficiency in innovating ideas and solutions resulting in tangible and measurable business outcomes.
+ Develop strategies for technological acceleration of value outcomes, and effectively present and persuade key decision makers to invest in this acceleration.
+ Expertise with one or more architecture domains (software development, data, integration, interoperability, cloud, artificial intelligence) and their associated architecture frameworks, standards/patterns, methods and tools.
+ Architecture experience in one or more technology platforms (Facets G6, Salesforce Health Cloud/Data Cloud, other Healthcare specific platforms, MuleSoft, Kafka, Oracle EBS, Peoplesoft, Snowflake, Anthropic, Claude, Azure Fabric).
+ Experience overseeing and driving third-party architecture engagements and outcomes.
+ Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, NCQA).
+ Experience contributing to portfolio rationalization and/or technical debt remediation initiatives at an enterprise level.
+ Ability to motivate and influence others so that architecture objectives are met in a timely and consistent manner.
+ Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop high quality strategies, conceptual architecture, solutions, and standards.
+ Ability to coach peers and team members across multiple business and technology disciplines.
+ Effective organizational/interpersonal/relationship management, analytical/systems thinking, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration across multiple business and IT teams.
+ Recent payer or provider healthcare experience a plus.
**Salary Range:** $126,720 - $251,680

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
