    Description

    Wheeler Machinery in Salt Lake City is seeking to hire a full-time Power Systems Field Maintenance Technician. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on generators and industrial power equipment, including load bank testing and minor repairs.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on Caterpillar and non-Cat generators

    + Perform PM Services on diesel and natural gas engines of all makes and models.

    + Operate and maintain a commercial vehicle in accordance with company policies and DOT guidelines.

    + Perform electrical 120V to 480V load bank testing

    + Willing to complete all job tasks assigned by supervisor, and management

    + Perform minor troubleshooting and repair of engines and generators

    + Will perform minor AC electrical repairs

    + Must be able to work within given flat rate times

    Qualifications:

    + Safety First, must have a good safety record. “Safety” will be this role’s top priority.

    + Must have an excellent driving record and have or be able to acquire a CDL

    + Be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, and exceptional work ethic

    + Must be very personable and have excellent customer service skills

    + Professional attitude and appearance

    + Diesel and gas engine experience

    + Follows detailed instructions and accomplish work with minimum supervision

    + Must complete paperwork in a timely manner, and have good computer skills

    + Coordinate parts orders, warranty information, service reports, and documentation required to complete repair

    + Must have a teamwork attitude working closely with all departments and supervisors

    + Works in high pressure situations while maintaining a professional attitude

    + Must be punctual and willing to work long hours, including weekends and nights as needed

    + Willing to attend various training classes to expand knowledge

    + Must be able to work overtime as required.

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
