Civil / Structural Designer / Drafter (Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, Lead)

Position Overview

We are seeking Civil / Structural Designers and Drafters at multiple experience levels to join our growing engineering team. These roles support a wide range of industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects and involve preparing accurate 2D and 3D design drawings, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring constructible, code-compliant deliverables.

Level of responsibility, technical complexity, and leadership will be aligned with experience.

Key Responsibilities (Level-Based) All Levels

+ Develop and prepare civil and structural drawings, models, and layouts using AutoCAD and/or Revit

+ Produce accurate plans, sections, details, and schedules in accordance with project specifications

+ Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines

+ Apply industry standards, codes, and safety requirements to all designs

+ Participate in design reviews and incorporate redline comments

+ Support project documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle

Mid-Level / Senior Designer Responsibilities

+ Perform advanced drafting and detailing for steel, concrete, and site layouts

+ Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and quality control

+ Coordinate across disciplines to resolve design conflicts

+ Assist with field verification and site visits as required

+ Work independently on assigned tasks while meeting project deadlines

Senior / Lead Designer Responsibilities

+ Lead large or complex drafting and design assignments from concept through final design

+ Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers and drafters

+ Interface directly with engineers and project management on design strategy and execution

+ Review and check drawings produced by others for quality and compliance

+ Support schedule planning and workload coordination

Qualifications (Flexible by Level) Education

+ Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field

+ Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Experience

+ Junior: 0–3 years of civil/structural drafting experience

+ Mid-Level: 4–8 years of experience

+ Senior: 8–15+ years of experience

+ Lead: 12–15+ years with demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience

Technical Skills

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)

+ Working knowledge of Revit strongly preferred

+ Experience with Advance Steel or steel detailing tools is a plus

+ Understanding of:

+ Structural steel and concrete detailing

+ Site layout and grading plans

+ Industrial and commercial construction standards

+ 2D and 3D modeling experience

+ Effective communication and problem-solving skills

+ Adaptable to changing priorities, schedules, and project demands

+ Willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Work Environment

+ Primarily office-based with occasional site visits

+ Hybrid work options may be available depending on role and experience

+ Overtime may be required during peak project phases
