    The Manufacturing Engineer at SLB is a self-starter with high initiative, strong self-accountability, and the proven ability to work independently. You will support production quality, and materials to troubleshoot issues as needed, and standardize and continuously improve manufacturing processes. You will leverage your expertise in Lean Six Sigma and advanced manufacturing methodologies to identify and resolve bottlenecks, optimize materials flow, perform capacity analyses, and drive process innovation. You will also act as the subject matter expert for manufacturing simulations and systems analysis, ensuring our production operations are world-class in both efficiency and quality.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    + Troubleshoot and resolve technical and quality issues on the shop floor during day operations.

    + Lead continuous process improvement leveraging Lean Six Sigma (including Value Stream Mapping, standardized work, line balancing, Kaizen, 5S, cell design, batch-size optimization, and pull systems).

    + Analyze material movements and process flows to optimize layout, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.

    + Perform capacity analysis and utilize simulation tools to assess and improve manufacturing processes and material handling.

    + Identify process bottlenecks and develop/implement innovative solutions to maximize throughput.

    + Lead Kaizen/continuous improvement initiatives and train shop floor personnel on new processes and standards.

    + Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process capability, yield, cycle time, and product quality.

    + Develop, update, and implement process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

    + Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Technology to integrate new products and technologies into operations, providing feedback and capturing lessons learned.

    + Lead and participate in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis related to manufacturing issues.

    + Ensure consistent application of best practices and adherence to engineering specifications.

    + Support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and quality assurance projects.

    Shift:

    Mon - Thur, 5:00pm – 3:30am

    For Manufacturing Engineer - Production:

    + Lean Six Sigma.

    + Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: standardized work instructions, line balancing, layout and work sequence (routing) optimization, training development matrix, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/5S workouts, pull processes, TPM (total preventive maintenance), cell design, and quick changeover/batch-size optimization.

    + Processes.

    + Implement process improvements to achieve manufacturing excellence in areas such as process yield (e.g. First Pass Yield, Rolled Throughput Yield), cycle time reduction and productivity.

    + Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs (e.g. through the use of Engineering Change Requests - ECRs).

    + Review and sign-off on Engineering Change Orders that impact Inventory - including product life cycle issues, obsolescence, etc.

    + Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality.

    + Monitoring and reducing process costs.

    + Quality.

    + Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

    For Manufacturing Engineer - Technology:

    + Lean Six Sigma.

    + Responsible to ensure that new processes are established using Lean concepts, such as: standardized work instructions, line balancing, layout and work sequence (routing) optimization, training development matrix, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/5S workouts, pull processes, TPM (total preventive maintenance), cell design, and quick changeover/batch-size optimization.

    + Also responsible for driving continuous improvement projects on manufacturing processes.

    + Processes.

    + Evaluates and benchmarks best-in-class manufacturing techniques for Schlumberger and OEM products.

    + Establishes pilot testing and scale up plan for manufacturing technology implementation.

    + Works with Manufacturing and Engineering Métiers and other stakeholders during prove-out testing of processes. * Supports the Manufacturing Engineer (DFM) on any specific technology issues/constraints for NPD and RR projects.

    + Coordinates with Manufacturing Métiers and other resources across the company to share and leverage best practices.

    + Quality.

    + Responsible for ensuring that manufacturing technology solutions achieve the required quality levels, reliability and consistency.

     

    Shift: Night Shfit - Mon - Thur, 5:00pm – 3:30am

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical manufacturing experience.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems for reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and troubleshooting.

    + Demonstrated hands-on experience in a high-mix, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Effective communicator with the ability to interact across all organizational levels, from technicians to executives.

    + Proficient in CAD modeling and layout design (AutoCAD preferred).

    + Advanced user of SAP ERP/MRP for production, inventory, and materials management.

    + Skilled in Microsoft Power Platform applications (Power BI for analytics/reporting, Power Apps for process digitization).

    + Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and VBA/Macros for process automation.

    + Certified or significant competency in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt preferred).

    + Proven experience leading Kaizen or other structured continuous improvement events.
