Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown
The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professionalpractitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for deliveringpatient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care UnitRN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patientcare and assisting others in the management of patient care. The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimesalso called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgicalstepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition orintermedia unit.
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: January 19, 2026 or February 2, 2026
Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours/week, every other weekend required
Pay & Benefits
+ Local Rate: $63/hour + $500 starting bonus
+ Travel Package:
+ 36 hours/week: $41/hour + $770 housing + $476 meals
+ 48 hours/week: $44/hour + $770 housing + $476 meals
+ Stipends are paid out weekly on top of your hourly pay!
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices
+ Minimum 2 years recent and consecutive PCU, Stepdown, or ICU experience
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
