Middle School Lead Paraprofessional – Substantially Separate Classroom
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: Through the end of the current school year (renewal possible)
Compensation: $30–$32 per hour, depending on experience and licensure
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced educator to lead a substantially separate middle school classroom that serves students with significant learning and behavioral challenges. This role oversees 8 students and 3 paraprofessionals, requiring strong leadership, instructional expertise, and a calm, confident presence.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide day-to-day leadership for a substantially separate classroom
+ Support, guide, and mentor paraprofessionals
+ Plan and deliver lessons aligned to student IEP goals
+ Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning atmosphere
+ Ensure compliance with special education documentation and IEP processes
+ Use appropriate strategies to support students with:
+ Limited or non-verbal communication
+ Communication devices
+ Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental needs
+ Behaviors including non-compliance, aggression, and elopement
+ Use de-escalation strategies and ABA-aligned techniques
+ Maintain a patient, composed, and nurturing approach at all times
Qualifications
+ Minimum 2 years of school-based Special Education experience
+ Must have Bachelor's Degree
+ Background working with high-needs or behaviorally complex students
+ Familiarity with ABA, behavior supports, and data tracking
+ Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Special Education Paraprofessional – 2025–2026 School Year
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule Options:
+ 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year
Compensation: Up to $25 per hour, based on experience
What You’ll Be Doing
+ Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students
+ Work with students 1:1 and in small groups
+ Follow behavior support plans rooted in ABA principles
+ Assist with classroom routines and learning activities
+ Record academic or behavioral data daily
+ Support students with ASD, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral needs
+ Collaborate with teachers and service providers to ensure consistent support
What We’re Looking For
+ At least 1 year of ABA or Special Education experience
+ Understanding of ABA techniques (prompting, reinforcement, shaping, etc.)
+ Ability to accurately follow behavior plans
+ Strong teamwork skills — must be a true team player
+ Patience, adaptability, and a calm demeanor
+ Willingness to assist other students or classrooms when needed
