Back Office Medical Assistant | Sebastopol, CA Start Date: ASAP | 13-Week Contract

We’re seeking an experienced Back Office Medical Assistant (MA) for a local contract with a well-respected healthcare organization in Sebastopol, California. This role is primarily non–patient facing, supporting back-office operations and high-volume patient communication. While based in Sebastopol, there may be occasional coverage needs at nearby clinic locations.

Position Highlights

+ Location: Sebastopol, CA (with potential floating to nearby sites)

+ Setting: Outpatient Clinic – Back Office

+ Start Window: ASAP

+ Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension or conversion

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

+ Shift: Days

Required Qualifications

+ MA certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)

+ BLS certification

+ 1–2+ years of Medical Assistant experience (back office or PCC-style roles preferred)

+ Strong phone-based patient communication skills

Additional Compliance Requirements

+ TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

+ Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Successful completion of new-hire training as applicable to job site

+ Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

+ Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and patients

+ Computer proficiency required

What You’ll Do

+ Manage high-volume patient communication via phone

+ Support scheduling, documentation, and coordination of care

+ Assist with back-office administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations

+ Provide limited in-person clinical support as needed

+ Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain organized, timely, and compassionate patient experiences
