Special Education Teacher- Elementary - Phoenix, AZ

Pay: $50/hour

Schedule: Full-Time

Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality educational services to elementary-aged students with social, behavioral, and emotional needs. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students in a specialized Connections classroom setting.

Responsibilities:

+ Deliver individualized instruction to elementary students with social, behavioral, and emotional challenges

+ Collaborate with paraprofessionals and general education staff to ensure student success

+ Participate in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction and consultation

+ Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Caseload & Support:

+ Caseload: 12 students or fewer

+ Classroom support: Typically 2 paraprofessionals per 12 students

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations

+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ State Teacher Certification:

+ Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Special Teaching (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
