Pay Rate: $40–$55 per hour
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality instructional services to students in kindergarten through grade 12.
This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration, student-centered planning, and the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs). The teacher will work closely with general education staff to deliver specialized instruction, provide consultation, and support academic success for students with diverse learning needs.
Credential Requirement for California Applicants The 30-Day Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit is not valid for this position. California applicants must hold a Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential in either Mild/Moderate Support Needs or Moderate/Severe Support Needs to be considered. This requirement ensures compliance with state regulations for providing specialized academic instruction.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (required)
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
+ Minimum of one year of classroom teaching experience (preferred)
+ State Teacher Certification preferred in one or more of the following:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
+ Compliance with all applicable professional standards and practices
+ Current CPR certification (if required)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest X-ray (as applicable)
+ Current health certificate (per state or contract requirements)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
