Summer 2026 Internship Program: Indirect Procurement Intern

We are currently looking for an Indirect Procurement Intern (Junior Buyer) at our Princeton, NJ office.
The 2026 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will run from June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026. Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Your key responsibilities
+ **Supplier Engagement & Performance Monitoring:** Support and learn about managing supplier relationships, including correspondence, performance tracking, and alignment with dsm-firmenich’s responsible sourcing principles within the category
+ **Market Intelligence & Research:** Assist in supplier research for RFPs and Bid analysis alongside Sr Buyer. Conduct supplier research and benchmarking to support sourcing decisions and ensure compliance with internal procurement policies within the Marketing and Event Planning. Specifically, work on a project for cataloging event material (swag) vendors.
+ **Contract & Documentation Support:** Assist in maintaining supplier documentation, contract records, and negotiation notes.
+ **Spend Analysis & Reporting:** Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
+ **Project Support:** Support Lead Buyer on all Marketing and Corporate Workplace Services (CWS) by analyzing spend, supporting contract review to optimize preferred supplier lists in NA region. Take on the creation of a Preferred Supplier List for Talent Acquisition to evaluate current suppliers, rates, areas of expertise and liaise with the Talent Acquisition community.

You Bring
+ Currently working on completion of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management or related field
+ Must be available to work full-time on-site beginning on June 1, 2026, to August 14, 2026.
+ Understanding and interest in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management for categories like facilities management, real estate services, Office Supplies, Marketing and Events Services
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills and focused on impactful communication and negotiation
+ Good analytical and qualitative skills, experience working with data, and critical editing of documents and contracts along with strong organizational, problem-solving; able to manage multiple priorities and workflow while delivering
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint creating presentations and Excel for analysis and insights creation
The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.
