Tracy Maintenance Control Technician - 2nd Shift

Pay Rate: 46.05 an Hour

Overview

The Instrument Technician (Controls) is responsible for installing, disassembling, repairing, and maintaining equipment. The Instrument Technician is also responsible for the safe repair and troubleshooting of malfunctioning mechanical, electrical or instrumentation systems, the calibration of instruments, maintaining 5s standards in work areas and tool boxes, and performing mechanical, preventive and predictive maintenance. This position is an active member of the hazmat response team.

Responsibilities

+ Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role; associates or 2-year degree in a maintenance related field is preferred

+ Experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication

+ Mechanical repairs (including rebuilding of gearboxes and process equipment) experience

+ PLC trouble shooting experience; experience with AC frequency drives and instrumentation

+ Basic knowledge of utility equipment and operations (e.g. boiler and refrigeration equipment)

+ Dairy/food manufacturing experience

+ Knowledge of government and industrial regulations (e.g. PSM, OSHA, and USDA)

+ Computer proficiency in email, internet, Microsoft Office software, and computerized maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP)

Qualifications

Minimum:

+ Prior experience in a similar role with electrical background; experience of pneumatics, electrical controls, and schematic reading

+ Must be able to understand/adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)

+ Must be able to communicate effectively with others, complete required documentation both in written and electronic form, and to troubleshoot systems

+ Must be able to perform essential job functions; wear required personal protective equipment; comply with all applicable safety practices

+ Maintain a clean work area; complete written reports; perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations; enter data into and pull data from computer systems

+ Must possess considerable problem-solving ability in dealing with equipment or troubleshooting when supervision is not readily available for consultation

+ The Instrument Technician must communicate effectively with machine operators, production supervisors, outside contractors and plant maintenance personnel. Good communication with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts is also expected. Must be willing to work any shift.
